WHY WE STARTED THE FRAGILE CLUB
Katya and I have each experienced our own mental breakdowns, self-doubt, depression, and anxiety. We believe that mental health is one of the most important issues right now and we want to encourage people to share their own stories so that other can understand they are not alone! Together, we can lift each other up and destroy stigma.
WHO ARE WE?
We are Katya Samotoi and Cait Holmes. We met through mutual friends and hit it off right away. We bonded over sharing our experiences of insecurities and depression while being working professionals, models, and side hustlers. We knew that together, we wanted to make an impact!
WHAT IS THE FRAGILE CLUB?
The Fragile Club is about acknowledging and owning our pain, weaknesses and insecurities. We aim to remove the stigma of mental illness, and support those who are struggling with mental health by making their voices loud and bringing about more awareness and acceptance.
Despite the global impact of mental health conditions, it is still hard to open up and ask for help when you need it the most. Research shows that harmful stereotypes about mental illness often prevents people from seeking treatment or speaking out at all.
Luckily, in recent years, we've seen a shift in the way people view and talk about mental health. Conversations about depression, anxiety, addiction, and more have moved from private to public conversation.
When people open up about their own mental health struggles, it can help break down stigma, spark important discussions, and even inspire people to seek treatment.
Social Media has brought us together and helped us realize that we are not in this alone. We have the opportunity and responsibility to embrace and support each other.
Everyone has their own story - What truly matters is the positive impact that you have on those around you. Your story matters.
