WHY WE CHOSE "THE FRAGILE CLUB"
The Fragile Club is about vulnerability and community. When you stand bravely and openly admit that you are Fragile, you show others that they are not alone and you open up the conversation to share personal stories of suffering and overcoming. The Fragile Club is about encouraging people to share their personal stories to uplift humanity and create a culture of openness and combined strength.
As the great Brené Brown has said, “Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome. Vulnerability is not weakness; it's our greatest measure of courage. People who wade into discomfort and vulnerability and tell the truth about their stories are the real badasses."
Despite the global impact of mental health conditions, it is still hard to open up and ask for help when you need it the most. Research shows that harmful stereotypes about mental illness often prevents people from seeking treatment or speaking out at all.
Luckily, in recent years, we've seen a shift in the way people view and talk about mental health. Conversations about depression, anxiety, addiction, and more have moved from private to public conversation.
Social Media has brought us together and helped us realize that we are not in this alone. We have the opportunity and responsibility to embrace and support each other.
Everyone has their own story - What truly matters is the positive impact that you have on those around you. Your story matters.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
We are Katya Samotoi and Cait Holmes. We met through mutual friends and hit it off right away.
